Cooling System Repair Coverage

Cooling system repair covers the entire circuit that keeps the engine at its operating temperature: the radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan, hoses, expansion tank and antifreeze circuit. When one of these parts fails, the engine overheats and expensive components such as the head gasket and cylinder head can be damaged. At our workshop in Kadosan, Ümraniye, we first identify the true source of the leak or blockage with a pressure test and computerized diagnostics. We only repair or replace the faulty part; we never recommend replacing a sound part. We refill the antifreeze mixture at the manufacturer's ratio, bleed the air from the system and check the thermostat's opening temperature. We keep the whole process transparent, show you the work performed and the parts replaced, and guarantee our workmanship.

  • Radiator leak, blockage and core inspection, with replacement when needed
  • Water pump and seal failure diagnosis
  • Thermostat opening-temperature test and replacement
  • Crack/swelling inspection of radiator, heater and bypass hoses
  • Expansion tank, radiator cap and pressure value check
  • Cooling fan, fan thermo-switch and speed sensor check
  • Hidden coolant leak detection with a system pressure test
  • Antifreeze drain, circuit flush and refill at the manufacturer's ratio

When Is Cooling System Repair Needed?

If you notice any of the symptoms below, a prompt expert inspection is important.

Temperature Gauge Rising

If the gauge is climbing toward the red zone or the temperature warning light comes on, stop the engine.

Coolant Stain Underneath

If green, pink or orange, sweet-smelling fluid is pooling under the vehicle, you have a leak.

Constant Coolant Loss

If the antifreeze level in the expansion tank keeps dropping below the minimum line, there is a leak in the circuit.

Heater Not Warming Up

If the heater is blowing cold air, the thermostat may be stuck or there may be air trapped in the circuit.

Steam or Sweet Smell from the Hood

If white steam is rising from the engine or a sweet antifreeze smell is coming into the cabin, have it checked immediately.

Fan Runs Constantly or Never

If the cooling fan runs nonstop or never kicks in even as the engine heats up, there is a fault in the system.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cooling System Repair

Quick answers to your questions.

My car overheated, can I keep driving?
No. Once the temperature gauge reaches the red, continuing to run the engine leads to a burnt head gasket and a warped cylinder head. Pull over in a safe place and let the engine cool down; if necessary, have it brought to our workshop on a tow truck.
How do you find the source of a coolant leak?
We connect a pressure pump to the cooling circuit and hold the system at a set pressure. If the pressure drops, we pinpoint the leak in the hose, radiator, water pump seal or expansion tank precisely, through visual and computerized inspection; we don't replace parts on a guess.
I'm losing coolant but I don't see any drips underneath, why?
If there's no visible leak, the coolant may be burning internally. A head gasket or a defect in the cylinder head can let coolant seep into the combustion chamber. We detect this through white smoke from the exhaust, bubbling in the expansion tank and a combustion-gas test; an inspection is essential for an accurate diagnosis.
If the thermostat is faulty, does the whole thing have to be replaced?
The thermostat is a small but critical part that, once stuck, usually needs to be renewed. If it's sound, we won't replace it; but if a test confirms it isn't working at its opening temperature, we recommend replacement to protect the engine from both overheating and warming up too slowly.
Can I use plain water instead of antifreeze?
We don't recommend it except as a temporary emergency measure. Antifreeze prevents freezing, protects against corrosion and scale build-up, and raises the boiling point. Plain water causes sediment and rust in the radiator and water pump. We use the correct antifreeze for your vehicle, mixed at the manufacturer's ratio.
When the water pump is replaced, what else should be checked?
The water pump is usually driven by the timing belt or the accessory belt. During a pump replacement we also check the belt, tensioner and bearings; on models driven by the timing kit, renewing them at the same time is safer and more sensible. We never add unnecessary work.
