How often should the oil be changed on a 1.5 BlueHDi engine?
It varies with driving conditions, but for mostly city and short-distance driving we recommend shortening the interval. Oil meeting the ACEA C2/C3 low-ash (low-SAPS) standard must always be used; the wrong oil will both clog the DPF and wear out the oil-bath timing belt.
What is the wet belt (oil-bath timing belt) and when should it be replaced?
On the DV5 engine the timing belt runs in oil. With the wrong oil or stretched-out service, the belt material can break down, and the particles can clog the oil pickup screen and cause engine damage. We plan its replacement at the mileage/year interval set by the manufacturer, together with the tensioner and water pump.
My DPF is clogged—can it be removed or deleted?
DPF deletion or removal is both against the law and harmful to the environment; we do not recommend it. The correct solution is to first identify the cause (short-distance driving, EGR carbon, a faulty sensor) and then apply forced regeneration or professional filter cleaning.
An AdBlue warning came up—will my car stop running?
If the AdBlue (DEF) level drops to a critical point or there is a quality/sensor fault, the vehicle starts a countdown and may eventually fail to start again. We use a computer to check the level, quality sensor, dosing pump, and NOx sensor, identify the real problem, and resolve it.
