On 1.5 dCi and TCe engines, a worn timing belt tensioner bearing or water pump can produce a whistling, squeaking or cracking noise from the front. Having it checked before the belt skips protects the engine from serious damage.
Jerking on take-off, sudden gear shifts or hesitation in the dual-clutch EDC gearbox are early signs of clutch plate wear and mechatronics fatigue. The oil-adaptation service should be carried out in time.
In short-distance city driving the EGR valve carbons up and the DPF fills; you may see idle vibration, smoke and the engine warning light. The root cause should be pinpointed with a computerized check.
Worn injector seals on the 1.5 dCi or weak spark plugs and coils on the TCe cause an uneven idle, delayed cranking and increased fuel consumption. Injector testing and an ignition check are needed.
